In current news, today’s topic touches on the 2024 proposed price changes for mailing services. The United States Postal Service typically proposes price changes for the beginning and midpoint of every year.
As of October 6th, 2023, the United States Postal Service has filed with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) in regards to the price changes of mailing services planned to take effect January 21st, 2024. Included with the proposed prices is a 2-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp, from 66 cents to 68 cents.

The USPS is also seeking price adjustments for several other mailing services. These services include Certified Mail, Post Office Box rental fees, money order fees, insurance for mailable items.
