New Postage Rate Price Changes for July 2024
On March 21, 2023, the U.S. Postal Service reached the second year of its 10-year “Delivering for America” plan. This plan aims to make the Postal Service self-sustaining and high performing. It addresses problems like mail and package demand, strict first-class mail standards, high employee turnover, and old pricing rules from the PRC.
You can view the U.S.P.S Delivering for America plan overview, milestones, and progress reports here.
Now we know what you’re thinking:
“So, what’s does this mean for me?”
As in our previous blog posts, we’re here to provide the low-down on upcoming price changes to U.S.P.S. postage rates. In April, the U.S. Postal Service told the PRC about a price change starting on July 14, 2024. The changes include a 5-cent increase for a First-Class Forever Stamp, raising the price from 68 cents to 73 cents.
For mailing products, this represents an overall increase of approximately 7.8 percent. The Postal Regulatory Commission of Mailing Services will review these changes before they take effect.
As mentioned before, Postalocity jobs approved to mail after July 14, 2024, will reflect the new USPS prices. The changes are as follows:
“The Postal Service is also seeking price adjustments for Special Services products, including Certified Mail and money order fees. Notably:
- No price increase for Post Office Box rental fees
- The Postal Service will apply a price reduction of 10 percent for postal insurance when mailing an item”
